After a cold bitter winter, preparing your home for spring in Broken Arrow OK can feel like turning over a new leaf. A newly blossomed green leaf thanks to the warmth of the spring sun! Whether you are a current resident or will soon be moving to Broken Arrow OK, it’s important to begin preparing your home for the climate change. We have put together a helpful guide of home tasks to take care of before spring is in full bloom!

    1. Start your task list off by fixing the wood trim around your home if necessary. Remember to check the doors, railings and windows throughout your home for any rotted wood that needs to be replaced. If you own a deck, make sure to probe this wood as well. Checking this prior to spring is very important as the wood can become damaged during the spring rain.
    2. Clean the gutters. No one likes this chore, but it is necessary to take care of before spring in Broken Arrow OK is in full effect. While cleaning the gutters, they should also be checked for sturdiness and any leaks. During the spring rain, gutters that are clogged or leaking can lead to detrimental water damages in your home.
    3. If you are moving to Broken Arrow OK in the spring, there is a good chance you will need to examine the chimney. If you are moving from an area where chimneys are not common, call a professional chimney sweeper to clean and inspect your chimney for any damages. This way, any ashes or left over remnants from winter are cleaned away and you are ready for a fresh start this spring in Broken Arrow OK.
    4. Finally, have your AC unit inspected, cleaned and serviced by a professional. When the weather shifts to a warmer climate, it is important to have your unit working at peak performance. You want to ensure nothing is broken and that all internal filters are ready for a new season of cooling!

It’s time to move and you’re anxiously awaiting the moment when you can relax and settle into your new home. You’ve done your research, you’ve hired professional movers and now you’re all ready to go, right? Wrong! After hiring professional movers, such as those of Broken Arrow OK, there is still much to do. A common misinterpretation that people tend have after hiring professional movers, is that their job is complete and everything else is taken care of. Though hiring professional movers means that most of the hard work will be taken care of, there are still several things that you can do to ensure the move runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. After all, the movers are only there to move your items from point A to point B. To help ensure that things happen as quickly and efficiently as possible on moving day, check out these tips provided by the professional movers of Broken Arrow OK which are designed to help you be as prepared as possible when your professional movers arrive.

    – Declutter and purge your home of any excess items that you don’t want to move before your movers arrive. Before your movers show up, rid your home of the items you do not want. It is recommended that you set up a garage sale or donate the items to a local charity. This way there will be no confusion on the day of the move.

    – Separate any valuables or important documents that you will be moving yourself. The goal of your efforts is to avoid any confusion for your hired professional movers. By separating the items that you will be moving, the movers will have an easier time finding boxes and loading them up.

    – It is also important to properly label boxes so the movers know exactly where to place each box inside your new home. This will save both them and yourself some confusion when it comes time to unload and unpack.

    – As a treat for everyone involved in your move, have plenty of water and perhaps some snacks on hand. Moving day is a long day for everyone and having a snack midway through will certainly help to keep the energy levels up.

The spring season is one of the favorite times of the year for West Valley City movers. Spring is when the weather begins to warm up and the flowers start to blossom. There are several beautiful botanical gardens to visit in Utah, but what if you could have your very own garden this spring. Gardening can be an expensive hobby, but it is possible to garden on a budget. Your local West Valley City movers has provided a list of tips to help you garden on a budget this spring!

Tips to garden on a budget:

    1. The first step in getting your budget garden going is to know what your actual budget is. Not taking the time to set a budget may cause you to overspend. Even if most items are initially low in cost, spending a little here and a little there can really add up and before you know it, you can potentially go over your budget by hundreds of dollars. Dedicate yourself to spending a certain amount of money for your garden and stick to it. The price of your “garden on a budget” will heavily depend on the size of the garden you are hoping to have, as well as, what you can spend on your garden.
    2. Don’t bother purchasing seedlings. Save money and go for the seeds. Seeds growing in a garden bed will grow just as well as seedlings and are much cheaper.
    3. Use your own seeds! Gathering seeds from plants and produce or from a friend’s garden will do wonders for saving on your budget garden. To preserve seeds, the West Valley City movers suggest allowing the seeds to thoroughly dry until you need them. If you are saving seeds from a previous season, be sure to store them in a dry and warm area.
    4. Use clippings from a friend’s garden or a botanical garden to start the process of growing of your own flowers or veggies.
    5. Have a garden plan in place and follow it thoroughly! When you know the size of your garden and how many plants will fit in it without overcrowding, you will be able to purchase exactly what you need without over buying. You’ll also be able to better maintain your crops in the long run.

If you think a studio apartment isn’t big enough to comfortably fit all of your belongings, you’re mistaken! When living in a small space, it may be hard maneuver all of your furniture and belongings around. It may also deem difficult to keep a small space clean and cozy. Fortunately, All My Sons professional movers in Upper Arlington have experience with the layout of studio apartments. Here we share four tips to help you maximize apartment space to make the most out of your home.

Create hidden storage by raising your bedIf you happen to have a bit of a smaller closet, there are plenty of ways that you can raise your bed a bit so you can put some storage bins underneath the bed.

Storage-ready furniture. If you are unable to raise your bed, or if you have run out of space underneath it, you can find more ways for easy storage. The movers in Upper Arlington say to consider all of the storage opportunities you have with ottomans and other pieces of furniture that open up and allow for things to go inside.

Use all of your wall space. Instead of a headboard, use the space on the wall above your bed for shelving. You can also utilize the space above that for scattered shelving, or take your book cases and cabinets all the way to the ceiling.

Less is more in a space like this. Small knick-knacks are nice to have, but the movers in Upper Arlington agree that they can make a small space feel cluttered. To maximize apartment space in a studio, keep just the bare essentials.

All My Sons Moving & Storage professional movers in Upper Arlington have more tips on moving and how to maximize apartment space here.
