  • Moving can be costly, but the expenses and prices shouldn’t be a big surprise once the move is over. As one of your Hilton Head moving company’s we warn you, other companies will charge hidden fees that you may not know about. With All My Sons Moving & Storage, you save on packing services and avoid the hidden costs that other companies will randomly throw at you.

Packing and Labor costs should not come as a surprise, nor a hidden fee. At the beginning of the process, you will have a one-on-one meeting with a certified packing consultant that directly discusses all charges and adheres to your budget so nothing comes at a surprise during the move. You have enough to worry about – hidden fees should not be one of them.

Another dastardly charge moving companies may shock you with is a fee for handling bulky items. As professionals, we understand that you will have large, bulky, heavy items that need to be moved as well. This doesn’t come as a surprise to us, so we don’t surprise you with a fee for moving it. It’s part of moving your belongings, it’s part of you, so there should be no hidden fee attached.

If the moving company you are thinking about hiring is not discussing costs for distance, then you need to hire a different company. There is a chance that moving companies will look to charge a certain amount per feet that your belongings are moved. We know it sounds crazy, and you will go crazy after everything is moved and that charge is on your bill. Don’t make the mistake of hiring a sketchy moving company when you have the opportunity to hire the white-glove service of All My Sons Moving. We want to you to save on packing services, not steal from you.

Organization is the difference between constant headache and relief during a move. As professional movers who provide Jacksonville packing services, we know a thing or two about staying organized when it comes to packing. Here are some suggestions to help keep you organized throughout the packing process.

    Pack Ahead of Time

Don’t wait to pack. Last minute packing goes in the complete opposite direction of organization. As you progress through the packing process, you can take your time, properly label boxes, and take a good inventory so you know exactly where everything is.

    Donate

As you pack, you will notice belongings that you do not necessarily need or want anymore. If you have old shirts and jeans that are still in good condition, there is always someone who could use a shirt on their back.

    The Convenience of Luggage

Yes, you will need boxes for packing, but your luggage can help you save some money. Not to mention, stay organized. Use your luggage to store away specific items or clothes so you know exactly where they are.

    Professional Jacksonville Packing Services

When in doubt, call the professionals. We have the packing products and services to keep the most difficult of moves organized on a level that is unmatched. You will have peace of mind and a stock full of organized possessions at your disposal ready for moving day.

If you have any questions regarding packing, packing services or packing products, or if you are looking for more moving tips or a Jacksonville Mover, visit our blog or call us at 904-642-6900.

The words “packing” and “fun” have never gone together, right? What can be fun about going through years of piled up stuff, shoving it into boxes, and hauling it to a new location? Packing is never fun – but our Austin packing company can share some tips to make the best of it. Whether you’re trying to motivate your children or even yourself to get through the process, follow these tips:

    Make a playlist

Music makes everything better. Try making an upbeat playlist that will keep you motivated, and make the packing process less boring.

    Break it down

Don’t try to do it all at once. Our Austin movers say this is the biggest and most common moving mistake. Instead, break down your packing process room by room. Pick one room a week (or one room a day) and focus on that room. Only move on to the next room once the previous room is entirely packed up. This won’t necessarily make the process “fun”, but it will keep you feeling sane throughout the process.

    Bribe yourself

Set up rewards for yourself during the packing process. Once you finish one room, treat yourself to a snack. Once you finish 3 rooms, take yourself out to dinner. Once you finish packing, indulge in a spa day. This will help keep you motivated throughout the process.

If all else fails and you want to avoid packing at all costs, call All My Sons. We have a team of Austin movers and packers that offer full service packing of all your belongings, so you never have to worry about anything.

One of the most unique challenges of moving to Baton Rouge is figuring out how to move a fish tank to your new home. Some fish aquariums can be quite large and fragile, making it a tricky task to complete. Even figuring out what packing supplies in Baton Rouge to use to get it done can be tough. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. We’ve outlined steps to take and which packing products for moving fish you need to be aware of.

Preparing your fish and the tank for the move

You will want to change about 1/5 of the water every day for a week before the move-in day. Additionally, try not to feed them the day before moving. This will help to keep the fish happy, clean, and comfortable until you’re able to establish their home again.

Most of the packing products for moving fish are going to be in your home already. Plastic sandwich bags are perfect for this, depending on the size of your fish. You’ll want to fill the bags 2/3 of the way with some of the water from the fish tank and then transfer your fish individually to each bag. Make sure the bag has enough air for your fish as well.

If your fish tank or aquarium has plants, you’ll want to put them in large, water filled bags and put them in a safe place for transport. Once again, it’s best to use water from the tank so that the environment is consistent once the fish and the tank are established in the new home. Pack pumps, heaters, and other accessories like you would with any other fragile item into cardboard moving boxes, secured with bubble wrap and/or packing peanuts. The same process applies to your empty fish tank/aquarium. Make sure there are no unattached items inside that could cause damage during transport.

There’s no such thing as a perfect move, and anyone who has ever moved has experienced some of the common woes that come along with the process. Items become damaged, time is limited and injuries may occur if the necessary steps aren’t taken. Moving to Tulsa without the correct packing supplies can be a catastrophe which is why it’s important to mimic the pros when planning a move. Here are some of the things that can go wrong when you don’t do what needs to be done.

    Not securing moving boxes

Having good strong moving boxes are one of the more important aspects of planning a move. These containers are going to be used to put your valuables in and keep them protected during transport. However, not securing them with strong tape can lead to damages to your belongings. Using the wrong packaging tape can lead to unforeseen expenses that could have easily been avoided.

Using incorrect padding or none at all

There is a wide choice of packaging materials to choose from and the items you’re moving will strongly determine what you’ll need to purchase. Fragile items such as dishware, glassware, and electronics should be wrapped in bubble wrap and additionally reinforced with packing peanuts. Packing paper is also a good item to use as well. Some people like to opt for newspaper and t-shirts for padding, which can be fine, but aren’t the most ideal packing supplies for securing your belongings.

    Cheap packing supplies

Trying to cut costs on packing supplies can end up costing more than you would think. People like to acquire free moving boxes in Tulsa from previous moves which can be a great way to save on a moving budget, but if those moving boxes aren’t strong, their contents can easily fall through the bottom. You can always find quality packing supplies in Tulsa by turning to All My Sons Moving & Storage.

Stay safe during the moving process with these tips from the Sarasota movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage

Use proper moving supplies. Many people try to cheat the moving game by using random household objects to hold their items. The Sarasota packers at All My Sons Moving & Storage always recommend new packing supplies, as they make a big difference in your move. Instead of having that makeshift box break and fall onto your toes, use quality moving supplies to ensure your items stay intact, and you do too.

Use proper moving equipment. Helpful moving equipment such as a dolly can save you serious strain. Instead of moving boxes from one end of the house to the other, a dolly will bare much of the load for you. This will help minimize moving pains in your back and neck.

Distribute weight correctly. Make sure no box weighs more than 50 pounds, so that it can be lifted without strain. An extremely heavy box makes the process more difficult.

Assess the area. In your current location and your new location, assess the areas so that you can make note of uneven surfaces, slippery or grassy areas, and any hazards you may run into while packing or unloading boxes, including poles, branches, or sharp points. Doing this ahead of time gives you the opportunity to lay down traction mats and create an easier moving path for yourself and those helping you.

Moving day always comes with its unique challenges, so our team suggests you keep an emergency kit on hand. This includes band aids, aspirin, and medicated ointment.

Family vacation is coming up, but your worried about the security of a few things that you’ll leave behind while you’re trying to relax with your family. Exactly how do you choose the right Memphis Storage Unit for your favorite possessions while you’re gone?

For starters, before placing anything in storage we urge you to take the proper packing services of professionals into account. Pack properly.

Run through this before making a Memphis storage unit decision.

    • Ask around about discounts and do some research.
      • Just because the first place you went to offers a very low price, doesn’t mean it’s the best place for your stuff.
    • Pest Problems?
      • Ask about pest control, and what the chances are that you will come back to your valuables being looted by rats and cockroaches.
    • See if there are any leak issues.
      • Look around and see how well maintained the storage facility is. Chances are if the outside looks like crap, the inside of all the storage units will look like crap as well.
    • Flooding is not common, but it can happen.
      • Check out the surrounding area and location of the facility. If flooding were to occur, how safe is the location where your thinking about leaving your stuff? Hopefully it can all float if you skipped this step.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to call your Memphis movers, or if you are looking for packing supplies and moving tips visit our blog or call us at 901-248-0548.
