Kansas City movers and locals alike are thrilled to hear that Whole Foods will finally be opening a Kansas City location in 2017. Whole Foods is said to be opening its Kansas City doors sometime during the first half of 2017 at the corner of 51^st Street and Oak, an announcement that was made shortly after the company’s Olathe location opened its doors.

The company gave Kansas City residents a glimpse into the Whole Foods experience by letting residents taste their food at a fresh food stand they hosted earlier this month at the University of Missouri – Kansas City administrative building.

UMKC medical student Lala Azher explained, “I got some really funky looking vegetables. I got tomatoes because they said they were really good. I’m pretty excited about that.” Azher also explained that it can be extremely difficult for UMKC students to find the time to eat healthy, so she and other students are looking forward to Whole Foods moving to the Missouri side of Kansas City.

“It will definitely help students who live on campus and commuters like me,” said Azher.

Kansas City moving companies are also pretty excited and are hoping that the organic marketplace will be appealing to those who are looking to move to Kansas City by 2017.

3. Always be on the lookout for shade– Sun is most brutal between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., so make sure you have access to shade if you are planning on going to Sarasota beaches or anywhere else outdoors this summer.
4. Reapply sunscreen – Stock up on your favorite sunscreen products if you are relocating to Sarasota this summer. Remember that one application isn’t enough if you are spending several hours outside swimming or sweating. Reapply every few hours to make sure you are protected at all times.

Your Mom’s Bar and Grille will be moving to Baton Rouge in order to open its second location on W. Lee Drive. Here, “(Diners) can expect hand-pattied burgers, nothing frozen,” said co-owner JP Ngo. “Everything we make is from scratch…from hamburgers to dressings.”

Chef Ryan Andre at City Pork Brasserie and Bar has plans to open a restaurant on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. Locals’ mouths are already salivating over the thought of having access to the famous chef’s Cheek Pastrami Sandwich with emanthaler and mornay.

German Smoked Bratwurst, German Wiener, and Louisiana Smoked Sausage are just a few of the dogs that you will find at Dat Dog once they move into Baton Rouge and Lafayette by 2016.

Contemporary lounge and bar The River Room is also on the list of venues set to open in a short two months in Baton Rouge, taking over what used to be the Red Star. Ivar’s owner Chad Hughes and Brad Watts, the former owner of Uncle Earl’s and The Happy Note, stated that the renovations that they are making to the building are going to create an atmosphere like no other place in downtown Baton Rouge.

Jacksonville movers are proud to announce that Comcast has released its South Florida pricing plans for Gigabit Pro. Gigabit Pro is a premium service that Comcast is offering, but at a high price. With Internet speed increasing by 50 percent and reaching speeds of up to 2 gigabits per second, early adopters are running to be the first in line for the service.

If you are moving to Jacksonville and are interested in Gigabit Pro, it will cost you a pretty penny of $159 per month with a three-year contract. A two-year contract will cost you $299.95 per month. As if that was not expensive enough, you will also have to pay an activation fee of $500, which could be waived with special promotions where applicable, but there are installation fees as well.

Comcast spokeswoman Mindy Kramer explained that the pricing comes from the fact that a specially trained technician would have to be sent to the home to survey and then install the professional-grade equipment. Kramer said, “This product is for the most advanced digital households and consumers who want the fastest Internet connection available in the marketplace.”

Downtown Denver has everything from food and fun, to shopping and entertainment. If you are moving to Denver, the 16^th Street Mall, one of the most frequented areas of downtown, stretches over one mile in length. The 16^th Street Mall connects one side of downtown Denver with the other, making it the perfect destination for locals and visitors to spend a day walking and mingling. As of late, even though public transit passes through downtown, passengers are not stopping to browse and shop.

“It’s obviously an incredibly successful transit mall,” said Brad Buchanan, executive director of Denver Planning and Community Development. “But the issue is how to create a sense of place that attracts people and gets them to linger.”

Last summer, researchers observed the busiest sections of the 16^th Street Mall and found that only 1 percent of pedestrians stopped to linger.

“I’m surprised there are not more people spending time on the mall,” said Jeff Risom, a Denver native who manages Gehl’s U.S. operations from a Copenhagen office. “It’s the most important street in the city, but it is surprisingly underperforming in relation to its potential.”

Denver movers overheard that the reason behind the lack of locals lingering in the area is due the perceived image of the area, causing some locals to view the area as unattractive and perhaps unsafe. In attempts to revitalize 16^th Street Mall, Gehl is working with the Denver planning office and the Downtown Denver Partnership under a $650,000 initiative called “The Mall Experience: The Future of Denver’s 16^th Street Mall.” The plan will work towards “pedestrianizing” the mall and restricting the use of RTD’s Free MallRide shuttles along 16^th Street.

Denver movers hope that the initiative works as planned and draws more locals and visitors to downtown.
