Downtown Raleigh Food Tour – Introduce yourself to North Carolina’s dynamic cuisine after moving to Raleigh, by registering for a public food tour with Taste Carolina. During this guided walking tour, you’ll eat and drink your way through downtown Raleigh, while learning about local history and culture. Tours take place on Fridays and Saturdays and require advanced registration. Tours cost $50-$65 per person.
Farmers Market – Get to know the people in your new community once you move to Raleigh, by visiting the downtown farmers market. You’ll find high-quality, local produce and artisan food, all while supporting local business. Farmers market vendors include local fishermen, nurserymen, cheese makers, farmers and ranchers. The market is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Raleigh movers know that you will frequent the local farmers market a lot once you get settled in.
Oak City 7 Concert Series - Located in City Plaza on Fayetteville Street (in downtown Raleigh) this concert series features prominent local and regional bands every Thursday evening beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free and there is at least 3 bands that perform during each event.
2015 Oak City Beard & Mustache Assembly Competition – Raleigh movers want you to know that this event is one where all of the unique beards and mustaches in town are coming together for this event on July 25th at 6:30 p.m. at The Pour House Music Hall. Purchase your tickets online for $10 for at the door for $15 to witness this hilariously interesting battle of facial hair.
