  • Knoxville, Tennessee is a hot spot for millennials. Not only is the city booming with fun things to do, the University of Tennessee is awesome too! If you are moving to Knoxville and are looking to attend the University of Tennessee, there is good news if you have credits from a previous school that you need transferred.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that the university received around 1,200 transfer students during the 2014-2015 school year. With the Tennessee Promise, the number of transfer students is looking at a sharp increase over the coming academic years. The Tennessee Promise guarantees that students who are finishing their first two years at community college will be able to successfully transfer their credits to the university, rather than having to retake certain classes.

Knoxville movers are excited to see if the initiative will be more of an incentive for millennials who were looking to move to Knoxville but decided not to due to their non-transferable credits. The Tennessee Promise program is currently in place for transfer students from Pellissippi State Community College and will be expanding to more community colleges throughout the state during the next year.

If you are moving to Kansas City, Missouri and could benefit from the accessibility of high-speed internet for your family, you are in luck! President Obama had set a goal for bringing high-speed internet to most schools by 2017; however, it looks like he is going to close in on his goal much earlier than anticipated.

Known as a school-based Internet program called ConnectED, the president’s high-speed initiative aims at closing the digital divide for those who cannot afford it. The program would particularly be aimed towards providing high-speed internet to children who live in public and assisted housing.

According to Mayor Mary Sly James, “The president’s selection of Kansas City as a ConnectHome Initiative city will advance our ongoing digital equity efforts for our entire city. Public housing residents are in dire need of connectivity, and our participation in this initiative will give everyone the opportunity to succeed in Kansas City’s technological economy.”

With less than half of the poorest households in the nation having an internet subscription, it makes it impossible for children to complete homework assignments that include research, or complete college applications that are nearly all required to be submitted online. On top of the issue of needing home Internet service in order to be successful in school, it is also just as important to be able to succeed in the outside world. Over 80 percent of job openings at Fortune 500 companies are listed online, and your Kansas City movers agree with the government’s idea that people in the 21st century cannot survive without the proper technology.

During the first week of August, Outcome Equality will be holding a three-day Just Culture Certification Course, which will be hosted by the University of Florida – Florida Health. The Jacksonville Just Culture Certification Course will equip attendees with the necessary tools and techniques for building aptitude and conviction in Just Culture. Knowledge of Just Culture will provide better working conditions and minimize combative events in the workplace.

Outcome Equality CEO and Father of Just Culture, David Marx, explains that, “People are recognizing that the issue of justice isn’t simple. There is some complexity to it. There are multiple types of duties that we human beings have – whether it’s to produce outcomes, whether it’s to avoid harm or whether it’s to follow sort of ‘how-to’ procedural rules. And we take all of the notions of Justice and we boil them down into a…class that we call the Just Culture Certification Course.”

Jacksonville movers are excited to see how the course will help the Jacksonville workforce and how widespread Just Culture can be. At a registration cost of $3,200 per person, the course may not be affordable for numerous attendees. If all business owners cannot afford to attend the Just Culture Course, how beneficial will it be for the city?

On the plus side, moving companies in Jacksonville agree with the message of Just Culture’s attempt to provide knowledge and justice, as well as move towards a positive cultural shift and societal outcomes. If you are moving to Jacksonville and are looking for more information on the Jacksonville Just Culture Certification Course and a more elaborated mission plan for the course, you can visit the article on Globe News Wire or www.justculture.org

Looking for some ideas to refresh the look of your new home after relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina? Raleigh movers have some easy tips for reviving the inside and outside of your new house, while maintaining your own personal style.

    1. Make your front door stand out – If you are brave, stray from the normalcy of using brown, white or black paint for your front door. Try a barn red or organic green that will reflect all of the fun and exciting things that will be going on inside your home once you move to Raleigh.
    2. Paint shelving a bold color – Artwork and mirrors are not the only things to liven up a wall. Paint a boring shelving unit a vibrant red or yellow so it stands out on a large wall. Place colorful items on the shelves to cheer up the space.
    3. Mix pieces of furniture – Get on the “upcycling” band wagon and blend furniture. For example, after Raleigh movers finish moving you in, you can buy oversized, textured dining room chairs from a consignment store and pair them with a more casual, wood dining room table. The mixture of texture, casualness and color will combine to create a homey balance. Use an area rug with like-colors to help bring the look together in your new Raleigh home.
    4. Furnish your home with multipurpose pieces – Especially if you are moving to Raleigh into a smaller home, use furniture that has more than one function. For example, a coffee table can also serve as a place to store books, pillows or blankets underneath.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears – Oh My!

What is one thing that will get your kids the most excited about moving to a new home in the middle of the summertime? Visiting new animals, of course!

Your local West Palm Beach movers always make a point to recommend the Palm Beach Zoo to families with little kids. After all, what better way to break up moving other than taking the whole family on a fun excursion to make some new furry friends? It is also a great activity to do while you have All My Sons Moving & Storage finish unloading all of your belongings into your new West Palm Beach home.

However, this time of year you will have an extra something special to look forward to – the Palm Beach Zoo is now home to a new tiger! Named Hati, this 12-year-old Malayan tiger has make the long trek from the Fort Worth Zoo in order to join Palm Beach Zoo’s Kimelman Tiger River habitat.

Local zookeepers are hoping that love is in the cards for Hati and the resident female tiger, Berapi. According to Nancy Nill, associate curator for the zoo, “with as few as 250 Malayan tigers left in the wild, conservation initiatives are especially important. That’s why we are proud to participate in a Tiger Species Survival Plan.”

Your local West Palm Beach movers assure you that you don’t even need small kids in order to have a great time at the Palm Beach zoo, all you have to have is a love for furry animals of all kinds.

If you are moving your family to Tulsa, Oklahoma this summer, Tulsa movers have a great summer idea for your children to allow them to have fun in their new city – enroll them in summer camps! Enrolling your children in a summer camp in Tulsa will help them make friends and adjust to their new surroundings before the school year begins. Try sending them to a summer camp that offers activities they like or can relate to. They will also be more likely to bond friendships with kids whom they have common interests with, who are in the same upcoming grade.

    YMCA of Greater Tulsa

This summer camp offers three different day camps and one overnight camp. At any of the three day camps, kids will have the opportunity to swim, play team sports, learn how to fish, practice archery and go on field trips. Overnight campers get to experience outdoor activities that span the YMCA’s 420-acre site.

    Brain Balance Achievement Center

This brain-based program helps kids ages 4-17, reach their potential academically, socially and behaviorally. If you are moving to Tulsa and you believe your child has a neurobehavioral issue, Brain Balance Achievement Center will use cognitive training, nutritional guidance, and sensory motor exercises to address it.

Camp Raven at Riverfield Country Day School

Once your Tulsa movers have settled you into your new home, think about sending your kids to Camp Raven, where they have the opportunity to explore 120-acres of wooded terrain. This camp hosts activities; such as: hiking, cooking, rock climbing, river rafting, song writing and sports.

    Brook Fine Arts Musical Theatre

If your child is interested in music and theater, send them to this camp! They will have the chance to learn singing, acting and dancing from professional instructors and put on a show for their parents and loved ones at camp’s end.

The annual Utah Best of State award program celebrates & recognizes organizations that greatly contributed to the way the community lives, works & plays. Whether it was Utah natives that were affected, or the families that had barely finished unpacking their moving boxes that their Salt Lake City movers delivered for them, the organizations chosen, had a substantially positive effect on the community. Two Utah organizations were recently recognized for their contributions in the community – the Springville Museum of Art and Tanner LLC.

Tanner LLC, the largest locally owned public accounting firm in Utah, prides itself on “building a culture where everyone’s unique strengths are valued in an environment that is innovative and fun,” according to managing partner Jeff Bickel.

Bickel further elaborates that, “as a professional services firm, our purpose is to serve. Tanner’s vision is that each of us will make a positive impact in the lives of those with whom we work every single day.”

Their unique approach to accounting is the main reason why the Salt Lake City company has been named as INSIDE Public Accounting’s Best of the Best Accounting Firms, and why many who are in the field of accounting have chosen to relocate to Salt Lake City in order to pursue a rewarding career.

The other organization honored at the 2015 Best of State awards program, Springville Museum of Art, is Utah’s first museum for the visual fine arts. Housing a modest 2,500 works of art, the museum hosts a wide variety of educational community events every year, in order to keep the locals inspired and intrigued with what is going on with the art world. The museum does not exclude any type of art medium as well; they offer classes and exhibitions on everything from photography to quilting to sculpture.

Both of these Utah organizations not only serve to help the community, they also inspire them and inspire singles, millennials, and families to move to Salt Lake City for an artistic, bright, and flourishing lifestyle and future.
