  • Milwaukee resident, Nell Benton, recently purchased a local café for one hundred dollars. No your Milwaukee mover didn’t make a typo, the restaurant’s founder, Michael Diedrick, sold the restaurant for the unheard-of price of only one hundred dollars. The restaurant is in good condition, and was appraised at fifty thousand; Benton’s offer of one hundred dollars wasn’t even the highest bid! There are several stipulations regarding the sale; Benton will agree to keep the cafe’s current staff on board, to continue serving dishes on the current menu and also to feed Diedrick and his wife daily for one year; overall your relocation experts in Milwaukee think she got an excellent deal on the local café.

Charlotte is a beautiful and very nice place to call home, but many local residents think of Charlotte as the last place they want to be on Black Friday. GPS manufacturer, TomTom, definitely possesses a ton of traffic knowledge and, according to the company’s data Charlotte has the worst Black Friday traffic in the country! Your Charlotte moving professionals are happy to provide residential relocation services on a daily basis, but we are also happy that Black Friday is not a popular day for moving considering the nightmarish traffic our moving trucks would be subject to if it were. The South Park Mall parking lot is particularly notorious for its non-stop Black Friday traffic jams, which inspires many Charlotte residents to stay at home on this very crazy day!

On an ordinary day, The All My Sons of Dallas truck would be filled with boxes and furniture, but today their trucks are filled with Turkeys! Your Dallas professional movers delivered over 100 turkeys and trimmings to local shelters; feeding well over 1,000 people. Remember, Thanksgiving isn’t just about a day off work or delicious food; it’s about being Thankful for what you have and nothing makes you more thankful then helping those who go without. Needless to say, your Dallas professional movers are a little more thankful this year. Happy Thanksgiving Dallas!

Your Baton Rouge mover recently donated many plump and soon-to-be-tasty turkeys to the society of St. Vincent de Paul. The local catholic organization is dedicated to helping out in the Baton Rouge community, kind of like your local mover here! Thanks to the St. Vincent de Paul folks, your reputable relocation specialists in Baton Rouge were able to make one of many donations which will allow the charitable organization to continue its annual tradition of providing delicious turkey dinners to families in need during the Holidays.

    Dear Baton Rouge Movers,
During this season of thanksgiving, we are more grateful than ever for the support of people who share our concerns for the poor and homeless. Your donation of turkeys could not have come at a better time. Every year on Thanksgiving Day, we serve a traditional meal of turkey with all the trimmings, and you are helping to ensure that our Thanksgiving tradition will continue for the needy in our community.

At St. Vincent de Paul, we have been overwhelmed by the number of people who can no longer afford basic necessities like food. In our community, there are thousands of households where people are eating less or skipping meals just to make ends meet. Our Dining Room is working hard to keep up with the growing demand, but as the economy continues to struggle, we are seeing more new faces every day. Last year, we served over 218,000 meals – a new record – and, unfortunately, this year, we are on track to exceed last year’s all-time record.

The demand is high and resources are limited, but thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community, we have not had to turn anyone away.

Thank you again for your generous donation.

    Best Wishes and Happy Thanksgiving,

    -Michael A, President/CEO

The thank-you letter says it all, St. Vincent de Paul is devoted to giving during the holidays. Your movers are glad to have had the opportunity to provide delicious turkey dinners for our Baton Rouge families in need. It’s not too late for you to do the same!

Oprah Winfrey’s 4,600-square-foot sixth floor Chicago apartment is now up for rent for $15,000 monthly. Complete with three and a half bathrooms, a solarium, library and three bedrooms (one of which being the 1,200-square-foot master bedroom) moving into Oprah’s Chicago pad sounds like quite the dream home, but apparently not for Winfrey herself. Oprah purchased the co-op apartment in Chicago back in 2006, but opted against moving in for fear that prying neighbors might make a habit out of invading her privacy. Assuming the next tenant of Oprah’s lavish Chicago digs isn’t of celebrity status, your Chicago area movers don’t think peeping neighbors will be a problem.

Good news is in store for Greenville’s job market! This has actually been quite a good year for South Carolina as far as new job opportunity for its residents is concerned. Recently, TD Bank announced plans for a regional headquarters to be relocated to Greenville which will create 1,600 new jobs within the company alone. Aside from the bank positions soon-to-be available, construction necessary for TD’s acquisition of Greenville territory will create construction jobs as well. Your movers here in Greenville are pumped for the thousands of job openings as people often relocate for employment, and your moving team loves to stay busy!

The “Occupy Wall Street” movement has gained national recognition in little more than two months, and though the Occupy protests are of controversial subject matter, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations has recently donated one thousand dollars to the Occupy Little Rock division of the nationwide faction. Your Little Rock movers were surprised to read the news, but the AFL-CIO did provide donations so that Occupy Little Rock participants may prepare for the impending winter weather. Funds will provide supplies such as propane for cooking, as well as wooden crate pallets which will be utilized to lift tents up off of the ground as flooding from rainy weather is a concern to Occupiers. Keep these many factors in mind if you plan on moving into a tent soon to join the other Occupiers.

High tides and strong wind in October have caused quite a bit of beachfront erosion here in Hilton Head, and on Thursday the island experienced the highest tide of 2011 at a whopping nine feet high! If you have recently completed moving to Hilton Head, the recent news of beach land erosion may worry you a bit, but in actuality erosion is a normal part of being a barrier island. Just as sand moves away due to erosion, sand also gathers due to the natural ebb and flow of the elements. In other Hilton Head news, the area known as our island’s heel will soon undergo operations to replenish beach land. Roughly one million cubic yards of sand will be added to the beach as soon as this week; special equipment will be moved to the island’s heel soon so that work may begin. The project should be finished on or before February 15th, and will be very advantageous considering that erosion of the island’s heel causes 100 feet or so of sand to move away each year. Barrier island life sure is interesting, isn’t it?

electricity is a crucial component of comfortable living in the current era, and that is precisely why your Columbus area moving professionals always remind clients to transfer utility services well in advance of their move-in day. Yes power is important, but sometimes our precious electricity goes MIA, which is a dilemma that every homeowner and renter should be prepared for in case a lightning storm or a crashed-into-transformer cuts the lights unexpectedly. Power outages sure do make you appreciate electricity along with the other finer things in life, doesn’t it?
