  • The continuous growth of Sea Breeze Food Service does not have plans to slow down any time soon; the company has plans to expand its Northwest Jacksonville facility by 16,000 square feet.

The company plans to invest roughly $3.8 million in the expansion, with the hopes of greatly increasing the need for extra space; including: dry and frozen storage, test kitchen, and meeting areas. Not only will the expansion add more physical room, it will also create an additional five jobs to the existing 74 workers the company has employed.

Before Sea Breeze can continue with their plan, the City council has to approve a request for $238,909 from the Northwest Jacksonville Economic Development Fund, for infrastructure and maintenance. The request would help for the expansion, as well as for projects like: connecting the building to the sewage system and repaving Keen Road.

According to Mayor Alvin Brown, “these grant funds will go toward helping them expand their operations and invest in Northwest Jacksonville, allowing them to bring more economic opportunity to this critical neighborhood.”

The company also has plans to request further federal funding in order to help pay for clean-up and remediation. So far, the development fund has allocated funds to two projects since its reactivation. Two of the projects they have already contributed to; include: $583, 587 to First Coast No More Homeless Pets to purchase and renovate property on Cassat Avenue, and $58,220 to the construction of a Church’s Fried Chicken.

The 22 ski resorts on the U.S. Forest Service land, paid a record high $20.61 million in rent for the slopes to the federal government last season. Denver movers explain how annual rent payments are based on lift-ticket and season-pass sales, ski school and on-mountain services; such as dining and ski rental – just last season resorts earned more money than ever from on-mountain activities.

Much of the spike is attributed to “visitor attitudes and spending,” according to Don Dressler. He states that he was pleasantly surprised to see these numbers.”

The amount of visitors that took to Colorado’s ski areas, reached a record 12.6 million in 2013-2014. In total, there are 122 ski areas in the U.S. on Forest Service land, with rent that totals to about $30 million a year. The 25 ski areas typically account for more than 20 percent of the nation’s ski visits.

Vail Resorts, which also owns three other Denver, Colorado ski areas with the highest rent bills, saw mountain revenue climb 11 percent from 2013 to 2014. Furthermore, lingering drought in California’s 27 ski areas are likely to push free-spending vacationers to snowy Colorado.

According to Don Dressler, “when California is having a poor winter, people are looking to travel where the snow is.”

Last season, every resort saw their payments grow. All but four ski areas counted 2013-2014 as their highest-grossing year, according to their revenue-based payments.

All in all, Vail ski area paid the highest rent at $5.36 million. Breckenridge was next, at $3.51 million, followed by Keystone at $2.07 million, then Steamboat and Snowmass.

The classic children’s book, The Velveteen Rabbit, is one that is cherished by generations. Originally published in 1922 by Margery Williams, the Raleigh Little Theatre will be putting on a production of the novel from March 6th to the 22nd. Your Raleigh packing and moving providers think that this would be the perfect show for your children to attend. The story is timeless, and it still touches the hearts of adults who read and remember it.

The Velveteen Rabbit is the tale of a stuffed bunny’s mission to earn the love of the small boy who owns him, which would, in return, turn him into a real rabbit. The show will take place in the Raleigh Little Theatre’s Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre, which is a small stage and perfect for kids to really enjoy. The cast includes actors between the ages of 11 and 86, so there is someone everyone will relate to.

The production is the second in the Raleigh Little Theatre’s Youth Series. The first was Mirandy and Brother Wind, a musical based on the book by Patricia McKissack. The next production in the series, Sleeping Beauty, will run from April 3rd through the 12th. The latter is reserved seating, so if you are interested, try to book in advance.

If you would like to attend the show, tickets are on sale now. They are $14, and $10 for children 12 and under. It is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with your kids and introduce them to a story that you loved as a child.

Tulsa is undergoing plenty of growth right now, so it is the perfect time to move to town. The latest development is the Walk at Tulsa Hills shopping center. The 155,000 square-foot shopping district is being built by Parkes Development Group, which hopes to have all stores in the shopping center open by the end of the year. Your Tulsa packing and moving company knows this is welcomed news for those who are new to town and looking for convenient shopping options.

Gander Mountain is the first store to open at the Walk at Tulsa Hills. The store is an outdoor lifestyle retailer that sells goods for camping, fishing, hiking and hunting. Other storefronts include: an Aldi grocery store, a Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant, a Carmike 12-screen movie theater, a Mathis Brothers Sleep Center, and a Freddie’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. The Walk at Tulsa Hills is now completely leased out.

The shopping center cost developers roughly $32.5 million, but the hefty price tag will pump plenty of money into the local economy. Not only has the development and construction created jobs, but each store will need staff. The project just started last summer, so there has been an incredibly quick turnaround, as the developer has a very strict schedule.

If you are new to the Tulsa area, be sure to check out the Walk at Tulsa Hills. The movie theater will be a great place to take the kids for a family night out, and then you can head over to Freddie’s for some frozen custard or Chuy’s for some tacos. You can’t beat that!

It is getting warmer outside, so you may be craving food with a bit of a hot and spicy kick. If you are new in town and do not know where to go to get your fix, your Salt Lake City packing and moving company suggests you head down to Taco Taco. Located across from the well-reviewed restaurant Cannella’s Restaurant and Lounge, Taco Taco is actually owned by Cannella’s and their chef Alberto Higuera Calderon, who is originally from La Paz.

Taco Taco is pretty small, but it is one of those places where you instantly know the food will be good. There is counter seating along with a few tables inside and out, and you order at the counter. The menu is pretty basic: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads, a few sides, and some meals for the kids. They also serve alcohol. All of their beers are $5 or under, and they also have delicious margaritas and other various drinks.

This is a great place for Taco Tuesday, because all their tacos are just $2. It is also a visually-pleasing experience. Taco Taco is decorated with art by local artist Ben Weimyier and interior design by Christopher Henderson, so this is a truly Salt Lake City place to eat!

This budget-friendly restaurant is a great way to familiarize yourself with some good Salt Lake City eats. Take the kids for some tacos and a little taste from your new hometown (and from south of the border)!

People moving to Milwaukee have reason to get excited about the opening of a new Smart Choice MRI – they charge about $1,000 lower than hospitals do for the same MRI.

Scheduled to open on April 6, the third imaging center from Smart Choice MRI is predominantly known for its flat rate of $600 scans, hopes to open 12 to 18 centers within the next 12 months. However, this is contingent upon the company raising about $2 million from investors throughout the next month; they have already raised about $1.2 million in debt financing from other investors.

Rick Anderson, chief executive of Smart Choice MRI, stated that, “everything we said we were going to go out and do, we’ve actually done.”

Even though each center takes about $1 million to open, the imaging centers are still widely profitable.

Recently, the company has started to market their services to employers – who in turn, give employees and their families a significant financial incentive to choose to use Smart Choice MRI. In total, about 45 employers in the state of Wisconsin have opted to make Smart Choice their preferred provider – meaning that the company now gives its services to about 56,000 people.

However, the company does not want to grow too quickly and end up lessening the profitability of future centers.

Anderson confesses that, “what I worry about the most is growing too fast. Thinking that you can do no wrong is a dangerous place to be.”

Knoxville is about to have more reasons to have people packing and moving there: a Fullservice BBQ is set to open in mid-April. With a menu boasting delicious treats; such as: barbeque or brisket sandwiches, pulled pork, sliced brisket, pulled chicken sold by the pound, and ribs served by the bone, locals cannot wait to start lining up around the corner.

Not only that, but the new Knoxville BBQ will offer a complete array of sauces; including: Tennessee Whisky Sauce, Apple Dapple Sauce, sweet and spicy sauce, and Carolina mustard sauce. But wait – there’s more. As if the future patrons need further temptation in order to be lured into the up and coming restaurant, homemade potato salad, macaroni and cheese, green beans, Southern slaw and baked beans, along with a bevy of desserts, will also be offered.

Owner Anthony DiFranco, who also owns and runs Fullservice BBQ in Maryville, states that, “the only difference in the Knoxville menu and the Maryville menu is that we might add French Fries here because we have a place to prepare them.”

In anticipation of having a high level of public demand for their meals, Fullservice BBQ is going to take over an old Sonic Drive-In. Conveniently, not only does the building have a drive-thru window, but also 26 parking slots that will most likely be at full capacity, every day, for every meal.

Part of the draw of the restaurant – aside from the food – is the inexpensive menu. They even have a $1 menu, along with family packs that range from feeding five to feeding 25.

Planning how to spend St. Patrick’s Day when you are new in town, can be a bit challenging, since you have no idea what is popular in the area to do. It is tough to figure out where the best events are and if they are kid-friendly. Luckily, your West Palm Beach packing and moving company knows all about the city’s festivities. St. Patrick’s Day in West Palm boils down to one major event: Irish Fest. The annual celebration will be held at the Meyer Amphitheatre and throughout the downtown neighborhood on Flagler Drive. The festival is this weekend, March 14th and 15th.

Irish Fest is filled with Irish heritage, and that means lots of food and music. There will be an Irish marketplace where you can purchase Irish products from vendors; like: art pieces and other crafts. Irish Fest will also feature an international food court. You will be able to feast on traditional meals; like: corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, and Irish-style bangers and mash. Traditional music will be played in tandem with modern Celtic music. This year’s headliners are the Screaming Orphans, the Young Wolfe Tones, and Off-Kilter.

Irish Fest is a great way to spend St. Patty’s Day in West Palm. Kids 14 and under are free, and adult tickets are just $5, so you can take the entire family! After a long and stressful move, it may be just the thing you need to let loose and have a little fun! And there will be plenty to do and see for your kids, so it is an event that everyone in the family will appreciate.

Maynard Holt, co-president and head of exploration and production investment banking at Tudor, Pickering Holt & Co. says that crude oil will bounce back to $80 a barrel in 2016, elaborating that , “We got thrown into this price by a small oversupply, about a million and a half barrels (a day). A million and a half sounds like a lot, but the daily market is 90 million.”

Holt was also a part of a panel discussion at Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business, which discussed the possibility of introducing a new undergraduate minor in energy and energy specialization in the Flores Masters of Business Administration program. The new minor will be introduced at LSU if the school’s Energy Initiative is approved.

The optimism for Louisiana’s energy industry, comes from the balance that the market will undergo more quickly this time around, than previous price drops and crude oil barrel oversupplies. The last oversupply and slump occurred in 1986, but the economy did not recover as quickly as it is expected to this time around.

Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Key Energy Services, Richard Alario, says that the quicker the activity falls off, the quicker the recovery will be.

Alario also explained to LSU students, that this is the time to jump on board with energy companies who have downsized. Getting on board and making yourself “shine” by taking on as many tasks as possible, will put you in a better position when the company starts to soar again.

If you are moving to Baton Rouge to attend LSU and have a passion for the energy industry, keep an ear out for when the undergraduate minor in energy program becomes available.
