Some people face a move with excitement as they look forward to new experiences and adventures. For others, an upcoming move is faced with trepidation and maybe a touch of panic. At All My Sons, we have some suggestions to help you de-stress before your Jacksonville Movers arrive at your home.

    1. Get Organized

Create a plan that will help you to accomplish one step at a time. Ideally, you’ll have at least eight weeks to prepare. Designate specific tasks to a certain time frame. Generate lists of important information. Break the move into manageable chunks and keeping important references handy.

    2. Get Rid of Items

Look at each move as an opportunity to de-junk your home. Toss those things that don’t particularly have any value for you. This step will make it easier to pack and easier to unpack once you’ve arrived at your new home.

    3. Focus On Each Moment

Rather than getting overwhelmed thinking of everything that you have to accomplish, try to focus on the task that you are working on right now or just those items that you can check off for the day.

    4. Involve Friends and Family

Saying good-bye to your good friends and family members can be one of the most stressful things about moving. Let these people help you to pack, clean, and move. This might give you one last opportunity to spend time with them before you move.

    5. Take Care of Yourself

Eat right. Get plenty of rest. When problems arise, you’ll be better equipped to face them.

One final bit of advice is to let Jacksonville Movers do most of the work. From gathering supplies to packing up the truck, we can handle much of the move for you.

As Oklahoma City continues to grow and evolve, some new specific changes are coming to the downtown Oklahoma City area. Specific areas targeted by city officials include buildings that have become old and decrepit in the downtown area which are due for updates and remodeling.

A while back, 20 years in fact, there were many more upgrades made throughout that area thanks to MAPS, which was a five year 1 cent sales tax in Oklahoma City that was dedicated to downtown remodeling. Without the investment, Oklahoma City would not have the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, the Bricktown Canal, the Chesapeake Energy Arena, a modern downtown library, a revived Oklahoma River, or a robust convention center, music hall or fairgrounds.
And for that matter, the city would not have the NBA Thunder or the River Sports Park that has developed along the river.

Now, a new mid-rise tower is coming to the area known as the Arts District, as well as new high-rise towers in the Central Business District.

Thinking of moving to Oklahoma City? There are plenty of new projects headed for our area. Research and check out what each building has to offer and you’ll be likely to find the perfect place for you here in Oklahoma City.

According to a new study by the American Economic Development Institute, Missouri and Kansas are two of the best states for running a business. Kansas came in fifth on the list, while Missouri ranks eighth. Overall, both states received A’s, grades they have maintained since 2010. The study uses 32 factors in its evaluation, including taxes, human resources, right-to-work legislation, energy costs, jobs lost or gained and state-government-controlled factors.

Missouri excelled in some areas, but also fell short in others like high school and college completion, workers’ compensation, regulatory environment, and long-term budget planning. The right to work legislation in some states also boosted their ranking, which hindered the advancement of Missouri on the study. If you are considering moving to Kansas City and starting a business, you’ll be in one of the most business-friendly states in the country.

In order, this year’s top 10 are Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Virginia, Kansas, North Dakota, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina and South Dakota.

We at All My Sons in Salt Lake City have seen quite a few open houses in our day – enough so that we can provide a few tips on how to host a successful open house of your own! If you’re looking to keep the cut of profit that would have gone to a realtor, here is our number one tip for hosting an effective, professional open house without relying on gimmicks.

    Invite the Neighbors

Having your neighbors attend your open house accomplishes multiple goals. First, it allows potential buyers to meet the locals and get a sense of the community, which often increases the buyer’s interest. Secondly, potential buyers are able to see what the home looks like with more people in a more positive atmosphere than a solo guided tour. This atmosphere often drives up the interest of potential buyers as well. Finally, you can use your neighbors as if they are your scouts. At the very least, they’ll be able to gauge the interest level of the potential buyers that they met.

So Your Open House Was a Success: Now What?

Relying on your neighbors to help you sell your home will allow your community to remain as strong as possible, so they are likely to be as helpful as they can be. If you put on a great show for your potential buyers, they may want to move in post haste – don’t delay the process, let the fastest Salt Lake City movers do the heavy lifting for you!

Centennial Campus is a research park and educational campus owned and operated by North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Composed of two locations, the 1,334 acres property provides office and lab space for corporate, governmental and not-for-profit entities, in addition to providing space for 75 university research centers, institutes, laboratories and departmental units. Currently, 2,700,000 sq ft of constructed space has been built, but that is about to change. According to reports, a new condo complex is coming to the Centennial Campus complex. The majority of phase-one homes will have two bedrooms or two bedrooms and a study or library, after reviews of larger units found that people thought them to be too big and too expensive. Phase one includes the development of about 7 to 8 acres on which 10 homes and a community pool will be constructed, with eventual development planned to reach 111 units on 10 acres.

Interested in moving to Raleigh? This condo complex in the heart of the NC State campus could be the perfect place for you to move and begin your college career or graduate school. North Shore has been in the plans since about 2001, but due to legal issues and the 2008 recession, building was interrupted. To prevent problems in the future, the building plan has been scaled to construct only a few homes at a time.

It has been a long and winding road for the real estate market throughout the US, and Atlanta is no exception. According to Zillow and their real estate data for the second quarter of 2014, metro Atlanta prices are strengthening on a slow and steady climb from the pits of the recession of 2008. While experts predict the recession will not truly be out of Atlanta’s hair until 2016, it is definitely progressing and showing change in the right direction.

But what about on a national scale? The climb is still very real for many markets, and home values are currently about 11.3 percent below their 2007 peak. U.S. home values climbed 6.3 percent year-over-year in the second quarter to of $174,200 — the slowest annual pace of appreciation recorded so far this year and a sign that the market is returning to more normal levels.

As we have seen steady price growth throughout 2014 thus far, it is likely only the prices will continue to rise, but at a slow rate. Each month we are seeing about a 2 percent rise in price, and the market is slowly inching back to a normalcy that it saw before the recession. Thinking of moving to Atlanta and buying a home? The time to act is now, as prices will continue to climb as the months pass us by.

According to recent news in the Sun Sentinel, a new apartment complex called Stonybrook might soon replace Delray Plants Inc., a longtime nursery on 31 acres south of Lake Ida Road between Sims Road and Via Flora. The prospective complex will bring 346 apartments to the land. Stonybrook plans call for two- and three-story buildings surrounding a manmade lake. The 346 apartments would include 83 units with reduced rental rates for workforce housing.

Monthly rental prices for the 83 price-controlled apartments will range from $735 for a one bedroom to $2,653 for a four bedroom. Rents for Stonybrook’s other apartments won’t be limited. Thinking of moving to Delray Beach but having trouble looking for an affordable place? This complex with rent controlled options might be the perfect place for you to call home.

But, not everyone is in favor of this potential development. Neighborhood concerns included an expected influx of traffic, the prospect of three-story apartment buildings towering over one-story houses next door and objections to toppling oak and pine trees to dig the apartment’s proposed lake. Also, some questioned the need for including rent-controlled apartments. In response, developers had to rework the design and try to save more trees and after neighbors learned more about how “workforce housing” is aimed at middle-income renters, there was mostly support for the project among those at Thursday’s commission meeting.
