  • While it has been a long and troublesome road over the last few years since the real estate market crashed, and the climb to regain status as a healthy market has been a struggle for many cities nationwide. The housing recovery began approximately 3 years ago, but many local markets have still to regain values lost during the recent recession. The question most people want to know is how long will it take for home values to achieve their pre-recession levels. Kansas City has a bright economic outlook, especially due to the manufacturing business and growing trade companies establishing roots in the area.

The cities quickest to emerge from the recession benefit from evergreen industries like government, defense, education and technology — sectors that will always provide work, even in a national slump. In addition, these five cities are diverse; their fortunes aren’t invested solely in one industry, giving them good prospects for the future. So even though Kansas City has seen jobs fall off in the past few years, it has been a slower process there that in other cities, with an estimated 2.7% drop in jobs. Living in Kansas City and looking for work? Thankfully, having a variety of jobs and industries is a way that the city safeguards against job fallouts.

It typically takes about eight weeks to organize, pack, and complete a move. There are occasions, however, when people have very little time. Here are some tips from your favorite Jacksonville Movers to simplify your last-minute move:

    1. Get Rid of Items

Take a quick expedition through your home and toss out or donate anything that you haven’t used recently. As you pack, keep a tote handy to weed out more of those unnecessary items.

    2. Get Help

Whether you enlist the help of family friends or call in professional movers, the more hands you have available to pack your belongings, the faster your move can progress. Don’t forget that there will be cleanup after everything has been moved out, so helpers can come in handy at this point as well.

    3. Make Lists

When it comes to a speedy move, the better you can be at creating lists of phone numbers, addresses, items to pack, things to be finished before the move … the better your helpers will be able to pitch in without requiring your direct supervision.

    4. Gather Supplies

If you have a good collection of boxes, tape, and other moving supplies on hand, you’ll be able to pack much more quickly than if you have to keep running out to find what you need. For those moves that occur within just a couple of weeks, your best option might be to take advantage of the supplies that we have on hand.

At All My Sons, we’d like to help make sure your move goes as smoothly as possible. Follow these tips from your friendly Jacksonville Movers for simplifying your move.

While six months’ worth of available homes on a local real estate market is considered healthy, Denver is certainly a cause for concern when it comes to prospective homeowners, as the existing inventory for a few months now has been stuck around seven weeks’ worth. This June compared to June 2013, the Denver metro and Denver suburbs saw a three percent decrease in new home listings, as well as a 4 percent drop in homes from May to June.

Active listings saw a bit of a month-over-month jump, growing 9 percent, from 8,401 in May 2014 to 9,163 in June 2014. But June listings were still down 7 percent compared to June 2013, which had 9,823 active listings. At this point in time, moving to Denver requires a bit of patience and tact with the listings, because with multiple offers on a small amount of homes there is a large amount of frustration for prospective buyers.

Home sales continued to rise, with sold properties rising 9 percent in June compared to the previous month, at 5,854 for June compared to 5,349 in May. The year-over-year increase was only up slightly, at 1 percent compare to June 2013. The average sales price for June was $335,275.

Interested in selling your Birmingham home? If the answer is yes, you will be happy to know that home prices are rising for homes listed for sale, and Birmingham is one of the nation’s top ten markets for price increases. Birmingham was No. 9 on that list with a 13.6 percent increase in the seller’s asking price on homes in the metro, but with just a 0.4 percent increase in the year-over-year change in wages per worker. Riverside-San Bernadino, Calif. and Atlanta were the top two on the list.

Birmingham has seen lack of inventory as a strong catalyst for rising prices, but as of last month, the amount of available inventory is growing, so it will be interesting to see what kind of effect that has on listing prices.

Birmingham did not fall into Trulia’s top 25 metros for the highest rent increases, but experts in the multifamily sector in Birmingham are expecting rents to continue inching up, even as new complexes come online downtown. However, it did say that it was cheaper to own a home in Birmingham than it is to rent one. Moving to Birmingham soon? Be prepared for a tight market where you’ll likely be one of my many bidding on the same home!

According to a new study by CBRE Inc., Atlanta ranks number 5 on a new list that tracks green efforts by cities throughout the country. The list has 30 cities on it total, all of which are ranked by buildings in the cities that incorporate sustainable and energy saving designs. Atlanta earned its spot with 54 percent of commercial space in the city certified as sustainable. Minneapolis ranked as the “greenest” city in the nation, with 77 percent of its commercial real estate certified as green. Other cities in the top 5 included San Francisco, Chicago, and Houston.

Atlanta has built up its inventory of sustainable buildings, and it’s been a top 10 city ranked by its number of LEED-registered and certified projects, according to the U.S Green Building Council. The switch to more efficient construction became crucial for the area when the city was becoming increasingly criticized for urban sprawl and for contributing to high car usage and gasoline emissions.

Thinking of moving to Atlanta and building your dream home? Keep energy efficient home designs at the front of your radar when selecting a development company or architect. Sustainable projects emphasize energy and water conservation, but they are also more widely associated with the desire to improve quality of life.

No matter how long each relocating homeowner spends on packing, almost all agree that they didn’t seem to have enough time. Few people are given the luxury of entire weeks to assemble and pack their belongs, so we here at All My Sons in Salt Lake City have a couple useful tips for packing your belongs as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Make Use of All of Your Space

When imagining a pile of boxes containing the entirety of one’s personal belongings, some imagine a pile of unmarked boxes with who-knows-what stuffed inside. Others picture perfectly labeled boxes, each the right size container for its contents. However, the most efficient method of packing lies somewhere in the middle. While you should never pack a box to weigh more than 50 pounds (or what you are comfortable picking up and holding for more than 10 minutes), stuffing a box can be very useful.

Boxes containing appliances can have a lot of extra space that can be filled with scarves, gloves, or pairs of socks (just don’t let the pairs separate!) to prevent wasted space in other boxes. This will also prevent any shifting during the moving process. You can use those same accessories to wrap up knick-knacks and fine china – you’ll just want to make sure that they are clean.

Let Us Handle the Heavy Work

No matter whether you meticulously label every box’s individual contents or simply pack it away to see it at the new location, the stuff inside has to be moved somehow. Allow the most efficient Salt Lake City movers to help you with your relocation.

Finding the right realtor for your needs is one of the most important steps in relocating, especially if you want to guarantee a reasonable price. Unless you happen to have the right connections, finding your first realtor can seem like a difficult process to even begin. We at All My Sons in Salt Lake City have a couple tips for finding the best realtor for your needs so you can move the right way.

    Successful Realtors Have Multiple Listings

The realtors that become popular are the savvy yet invested consultants who have successfully catered to their clients’ needs. These are the realtors who receive multiple listings to sell at a time. If you check a website that provides multiple listing services, you can quickly locate a seasoned professional. Not only that, but you can search through examples of the listings they have to offer at the same time.

    Learn Before You Sign

Always research the credentials and references of a realtor you may potentially choose. You should also find out how long he or she has been in the business – if they have been in the industry for less than five years full-time, they are most likely still learning the trade. Nearly all of this research can be performed online, but it can also help to directly ask your realtor as well to learn how they respond.

    The Next Step

After securing the absolute best realtor for a listing, some people find themselves needing to move before they expected it! Don’t ruin the perfect streak – rely on the best Salt Lake City movers to help you relocate quickly and securely.

Looking for a spirits distillery and tasting room to try out some new liquor? Old Dominick will open to the public in fall 2015 in the 54,297-square-foot, 1920s-era warehouse at 301 S. The facility will be used as the production and bottling facility of a portfolio of ultra-premium distilled spirits, according to a release. The distillery will begin operating late next summer. There’s a new fitness retailer moving to Raleigh in the coming months. Lululemon, the premium yoga and activewear clothing brand, is about ready to begin training its next generation of customers in the Research Triangle. A new Raleigh store will be opening at 617 W Jones St about half a block off of Glenwood Avenue in the Glenwood South district. The new store will feature sportswear for the 6-15 year old age group under the brand name Ivivva. This addition will be the only Ivivva store location in North Carolina.

The brand’s infamous price tags follow to the junior brand, we have learned. Business Insider notes that Ivivva’s yoga pants for girls are less expensive at $64 than those for adults, priced around $98, but the girls pants are still more expensive than most other girls athletic wear brands. The Ivivva stores also sells brightly-colored bras, leggings, yoga pants, jackets and hoodies.

Lululemon has two locations in the Triangle at the Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham and at the Lassiter at North Hills shopping center in midtown Raleigh. The active lifestyle is a huge part of the Raleigh way of life, so activewear brands like Lululemon are a niche brand that performs well in the region. Living in Raleigh, you’ll likely have your fair share of hiking, running, rock climbing and more.

As the local West Palm Beach real estate market continues to bounce back from the recession, condo prices are growing significantly in the area. According to data from the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches, June marked the fourth straight month buyers have pushed the median condo price in Palm Beach Gardens and the surrounding communities higher. Even on slower sales volumes nothing seems to be able to stop prices from reaching new highs. Even now, in the middle of July, median home prices are up another 2.4 percent from the past 30 days. Moving to Palm Beach? Get ready to have a bidding war or just plain get outbid as the number of available homes is dwindling, prompting a need for new construction.

Inventory in the most sought after areas is limited and in more and more buildings non-existent. Condo prices haven’t been higher since 2008, and if we continue the current course that year will be a distant memory from how far prices will continue to climb. Foreign investment continues to skyrocket and Florida’s Palm Beach coastline is one of the world’s premier destinations. We see this trend continuing and gaining strength until the numbers tells us something different.
Wishing you the best of luck as you look for a condo or a home in Palm Beach.
